Donald Trump Republican Party in Primary election

Donald Trump republican Party

Wisconsin Assembly Speaker Robin Vos, whose turndown to aid Donald Trump in flipping the state's 2020 election results, earned a Republican primary challenge from state Assembly Speaker Robin Vos, who barely won her race on Tuesday, according to a Milwaukee Journal Sentinel report. Wisconsin is also the site of a crucial Republican primary for its state Legislature, in which longtime Assembly Speaker Robin Vos, a staunch conservative who has largely gone along with Trump claims to have won the 2020 election, is being challenged by Adam Steen, who has earned a Trump endorsement, as longtime Assembly Speaker Robin Vos was not sufficiently aggressive about the states efforts to invalidate Joe Biden's loss. Former President Donald Trump's backing for Republican Adam Steen in his primary campaign against Robin Vos, a powerful speaker of the Wisconsin Assembly, has angered Trump over her refusal to attempt to overturn President Joe Bidens 2020 win in the state, a move that election law experts said was not legal. Vos is backing President-elect Paul Ryan, whose state's reelection efforts to decertify Joe Biden's defeat in the state have been deemed legally inept. Former President-elect Paul Ryans' defeat in the state is not fading, too.

In the Wisconsin primary for governor, former President Donald Trump endorsed building trades executive Tim Miers over Rebecca Kleefisch, who was the assistant governor under Republican former Gov. Tim Mies businessman, Michels has walked carefully through the final weeks of the primary campaign, sending mixed messages on how much he is prepared to go along with former President Donald Trumps push for decertification of 2020 state election results. Tim Michels and his two main opponents in a tight primary race distanced themselves from Donald Trump's remarks at a candidate's August 1 town hall when asked by a Republican voter if he would back another Trump candidacy given his actions on January 6, 2021, attacks on the U.S. Capitol.

President Trump's endorsements of several other candidates

Former President Trump's endorsements for several other candidates down the ballot have been in denial, including Thiel Foundation president Blake Masters for Senate and Mark Finchem, the Arizona lawmaker and conspiracy theorist who marched to the Capitol on January 6, for Secretary of State. Some of these candidates were already leading candidates when they received former President Donald Trump's endorsements--and in one Republican primary in Missouri, Trump hedged his bets by endorsing Erick in a race in which several candidates shared the first name.

In Arizona, last week, Trump's choice for governor, former TV host Cari Lake, defeated Carrin Taylor Robson, who had both outgoing Republican Gov. In Michigan, Tudor Dixon, the conservative commentator who has repeated falsehoods about Donald Trump's 2020 election, won the Republican nomination for governor and will take on Democratic Governor Gretchen Whitmer in one of the highest-profile races of the November, one that also will revolve around abortion rights.

The FBI's raid of Mar-a-Lago Monday has energized America's right, raising the prospect of a Republican Party to hold on to Donald Trump that may grow stronger just as it is losing it under Donald Trump. In an article, journalist Michael Bender noted that Tuesday's results from Republican primaries showed former president Donald Trump held on to Republican Party supremacy, which was in contrast to the titles of the articles. The results of Tuesday's primary show that former President Donald Trump remains a center of power within the GOP.

This past week, though, offers evidence of the fact that Trump remains a power center in the party. Indeed, Republican Representatives Dan Newhouse of California and David Valadao, the only other Republicans to date who have voted for former President Donald Trump's impeachment and made the November ballot, each took roughly 25% of the primary vote. U.S. Rep. Peter Meijer, who voted last year to impeach former President Donald Trump as well as on January 6, was defeated in a Republican primary by another election-denying Trump supporter from the 3rd Congressional District. Rusty Bowers, the speaker of the Arizona house of representatives and a key witness on the January 6 commission, lost in a primary for the state Senate against a - you guessed it - a Trump-backed election conspiracy monger.

EX -President Donald Trump still commands 49% support

A Times poll found that ex-President Donald Trump still commands 49% support within the GOP; the Florida governor gets just 25%. In fact, the poll found that 51 percent of Republicans would have voted for someone other than former President Donald Trump's nominee had primaries been held today. Republican voters' excitement about Donald Trump running for President again has been declining. As the Greek tragedy played out, establishment figures began begrudgingly endorsing tea party strongman Ted Cruz as a way of denying Donald Trump the Republican nomination.

The political establishment is so scared of Donald Trump's announcement on any given day that he is running for President in 2024, she said, and it is such an easy way of simply throwing more mud at Donald Trump as though he has not done enough already. No matter when or if Trump may mount a third campaign, there is a small but critical contingent of Republicans who are skeptical he could pull out of a run. President Trump also gave the GOP a central role in his reelection campaign and invested heavily in its organizing capabilities.
